New Beginning

Welcome to the Miller's Moments! I see so many great blogs out there and then I tell myself I need to do one as well. Now I only feel bad that I haven't been documenting Brynn's childhood as good as I could have. Well, today is a new beginning on following the beautiful (and maybe not so beautiful) moments of the Miller family, Matthew, Kara, Brynn, and Annie our family dog.

There is so much I could say to catch everyone up from being pregnant, to Brynn's birth, to all of her milestones! That would take a pretty long time so I will settle for recent highlights and go from there.

As of creating this blog, Brynn is 21 months old. She is SO smart and acts like such a big girl. We are dealing with discipline issues and the Supernanny coined term, the "Naughty Spot", and small steps towards potty-training. She has gone number 1 and 2 multiple times in her little princess potty. She much prefers pretend potty though, where she hands out the toilet paper to me and herself and pretend wipes herself. For her age, she has such a large vocabulary. She enjoys using those words and learning new words. She is constantly asking "What's this?" or "What is That?". I am amazed at what she understands and what she can do...like sing her ABC's, Twinkle, Twinkle, Row Your Boat, Counting, Flash cards...and the list goes on. She also loves to color. She makes sure that mommy and daddy have our own paper and writing utensil. She never wants us left out! Brynn and Annie get along very well, they both enjoy playing tug of war with Annie's toys. Annie naturally has always played more gentle with Brynn than with us...she's a smart little dog!

God truly has blessed us with a bright and beautiful child! As most any parent would say - I never thought I could love someone this much! I imagine the overwhelming feelings of love I have for Brynn must only be an inkling of the love God has for each of us.

Here is the most recent picture I have of Brynn for now.

This is Brynn at church playing with her little piggy.

Aside from Brynn, Matt and I are doing well. We continue to learn how to juggle both working full-time, parenting Brynn cohesively, finding time for each other and for God individually and as a couple, having time for ourselves and with our church family. It's a constant work in progress. I am sure there may be times where we become complacent and just go through the motions, but when we keep our priorities in check life is just grand!

Matt has been working at LandArc since September as a Software Developer and seems to really enjoy it. He completed his Master's degree March 2006 and recently got certified as a Microsoft Certified Professional. He's a smarty, too!.....As for me, I am working on my 7th year at Rochester College. I have worked in the Business Office as the Student Accounts Manager, which basically means I handle the accounts receivable for student's tuition and fees. At times I have loved my job and at other times I hated my job. I guess that pretty much happens wherever you work...but I have a great group of co-workers.

More posts soon, I promise!
